MEET KEVIN!

Kevin Juza has been involved as a Democrat and volunteer in San Diego County for several years. He served on the Rancho Bernardo Community Planning Group before he and his wife chose to move to Poway to raise their daughters. He was the Democratic Party endorsed candidate for Poway Unified School Board in 2018. In that race he was endorsed by both unions in the Poway Unified School District as well as the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council, before many Democrats realized the significance of school board races. In 2022, he was a Democratic Party endorsed candidate for Poway City Council. Kevin has spent years volunteering in the Poway community and has served on the District Advisory Council for the Poway Unified School District, as well as a board member for three different school organizations in Poway Unified.

Kevin was born and raised in the Midwest, where he learned from a young age values like tenacity, courage, and personal accountability. These values have shaped his approach to public service. In the Assembly, he intends to put these values into action by focusing on policy that prioritizes improving education quality and opportunities for all Californians, taking real action to combat climate change, and ensuring that the Democratic platform is enacted in a way that encourages responsible governance, from Sacramento to the streets of our hometowns.

In 2018, Kevin and his twin daughters rode their bikes across California, from El Centro through Julian to Encinitas. It was an amazing adventure, but it also opened his eyes to the disparity faced in our district compared to those that have representatives committed to investing in their communities. His goal is to finally bring attention to the issues we face in AD75, and real resources to tackle these issues.

Kevin knows it’s time to put his values of tenacity, courage, and accountability to work to improve lives in AD-75, and to build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous California for all.
